Barbecue season is finally here again. And to make it truly delicious, we recommend you marinate your steaks yourself. Not only is it quick and easy with our grilled steak marinade, but the meat becomes extraordinarily juicy and tender.
Ingredients
Neck steaks:
4 tbsp. medium spicy mustard
1 tbsp. tomato paste
1 tsp. dried marjoram
½tsp . powdered sweet paprika
½tsp . garlic powder
½tsp . onion powder
¼tsp . pepper
1 tsp. honey
150 ml dark beer
6 pork neck steaks
Salt
Prepare marinade for grilled neck steak.
Step 1
Put the mustard, tomato paste and spices in a bowl and mix.
Step 2
Add the honey and beer and mix everything evenly.
Step 3
Refrigeration time:3 hours
Place the neck steaks in the grill marinade and marinate under a lid in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, or preferably overnight.
Step 4
Take the steaks out of the refrigerator 1 hour before grilling and let them heat through. Add a little salt and grill the neck steaks on each side for 3-4 minutes until golden.

The Right Beer
In principle, the marinade for grilled neck steak can be prepared using the kind of beer you already have at home. However, it becomes especially strong and flavorful with dark beer or bock beer .

Fresh Ingredients
We used quick and easy to prepare dried herbs and spices for our marinade. But there are other options if you have fresh ingredients at home . You can give the marinade extra flavor with:
- fresh garlic
- lemon zest
- fresh onion
- fresh herbs such as rosemary, thyme, etc.
Mustard
We used regular medium spicy mustard. If you like it spicier, you can use spicy must ard . For a sweet flavor, we recommend sweet mustard.
Substitute honey
Speaking of nice little things. The honey in our recipe provides that. If you don’t have it at home or don’t want to use it, you can use cane sugar instead .
