Technology can be like an adult who washes their own dishes and has just finished a batch when they already have new dishes to wash. It’s the same with all types of technology: you barely understand a device or new software when a brand is already releasing a new device with significant improvements.
Even the most unexpected product has technology, and now it’s time to talk about laundry detergent, that soap we use to wash our clothes, praying that they don’t wear out or get dirty. And now we have a new competitor – sheet soap.
What are sheet detergents and how do they work?
Sheet detergent is a non-liquid soap designed for hand and machine washing. What’s interesting is that it dissolves in water, whether in your washing machine or laundry bucket, and brands position it as an eco-friendly, plastic-free alternative. Plus, you won ‘t have to take the time to measure out the right amount of soap or waste it because of spilled product.
As we said, according to some brands, the sheets dissolve in the washing machine and provide the perfect amount to load. This way, you no longer have to spend time measuring and worrying about dosing the exact amount of detergent. Although some manufacturers recommend using a sheet for laundry up to 11 pounds or not very dirty laundry; and for heavier items, sportswear or very dirty items, use two sheets.
These sheets, or β sheets β as they are also called, concentrate in their composition ingredients such as: starch, sodium dodecyl sulfate, polyvinyl alcohol, linear alkylbenzenesulfonate, ethoxylated isotridecanol, glycerin, trisiloxane, water, protease enzyme, natural oil flavoring and others. This combination may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, but these are the basic ingredients.
How to use detergent on your sheets
Using these detergent sheets is as easy as using regular soap, liquid or powdered. To use them, you must first check the type of load or weight. As we mentioned, one sheet requires less than 11-13 kg; for more weight, two sheets are needed. Then you just run the cycle and that’s it.
For hand washing, simply dissolve one cloth in four liters of warm or cold water, wash your clothes in this soapy water, and then rinse. It’s also important to note that most of these wipes are scented and are claimed to protect the color of the clothes, so using a laundry conditioner at the end of the wash is not recommended.
