Flamingo Motif Boutique is a Woman run Small Business in the heart of Hintonburg, Ottawa. Flamingo Motif Boutique is the amalgamation of two local businesses. These business's became one store February 2024.

Flamingo Boutique owned by Jo Arbuthnot, began 5 years prior with the goal of being the place for you to find affordable, unique and fun products as she believed that you should be able to find the perfect gift at a great price!

Since then, Jo moved locations from Parkdale Market area to Hintonburg. Meeting many customers and becoming a sought after store in our local Wellington West community.

Amy the owner of Motif! Boutique met Jo because Amy was a Maker of Bath Goods and sold her products at Flamingo Boutique. Jo and Amy became Friends, and Jo became her Mentor as she Amy transitioned from a 23 Career in Cosmetics and Retail to a Small Business Owner.

Motif! Boutique was born from a pop-up shop in the fall of 2021. In March of 2022 it was opened as a full concept store. Located in a smaller shop next door to where we reside now.  Motif! Boutique featured 50 Local Makers by consigning their goods and creating an open and transparent way for Makers to track their inventory and get notified about sales.

Fast forward to February 2024. Flamingo Boutique and Motif! Boutique become one under Amy Gatschene's ownership. Jo is now able to spend all of her attention on her wholesale company Suzie Blue Canada. This brand offers a range of ethically sourced, handmade products from Bali, including a line of stunning fashion jewellery and clothing, which is curated and designed by Jo, on her yearly trips to Bali. Flamingo Motif! Boutique will continue to carry Suzie Blu Camada’s full line.

When you shop at Flamingo Motif! Boutique you are truly supporting a Small Local Woman Owned Business. On top of all the products we ethically source - we consign close to 100 Makers and Entrepreneurs. Most of which are Local to Ottawa and 90% are women owned business's. You really are infusing your money back into Ottawa.

We know that shopping for a thoughtful gift can be stressful and we aim to make it as fun and easy as possible for you. With our vast variety of products, we truly believe that we have something for almost anyone! Our main goal is to ensure that any experience you have with Flamingo Motif! Boutique, whether online or in-store, is enjoyable and personal!
